It is a 80 square meter flat on a higher floor, the 6th and last one in the building. That´s why is really sunny. The flat has a vestibule, a small kitchen, a living/dining room, two bathroom (one with shower/bath and sink and another one with wc and sink) and four rooms, that we used two as a bedrooms. There are also a long balcony -around 8 metres by 1,5-, that is useful to take fresh air or see the sunrise meanwhile you take breakfast, if you like to get up early in the morning.

Unless our neighbourhood has a lively life, our flat is quiet because is on a higher floor and facing the back side of the block, not the street.

The flat has air conditioning, but normally is not necesary. Just opening the windows, a gentle breeze refresh the home.

About the beds: we don´t use beds, but tatami. The flat offers you a king size mattress over tatamis in the master bedroom. A single room with tatami/mattress and our daughters playroom with a single normal bed.

We don´t have TV, not microwave. Except that, we have the usual appliance: washmachine, iron, fridge, vacuum cleaner, notebook, internet broadband wireless, active speakers to conect to a any music player.

We are in the center of our neighbourhood, which is well located in Barcelona. Our flat is:

- 5 minutes walk to Joanic metro station, Yellow Line. Then, 10 minutes to Catalunya Square, 13 minutes to Gothic Neighbourhood (Plaza Sant Jaume), 15 minutes to Barceloneta Metro Station, near the beach.

- 8 minutes walk to Fontana metro station, Green Line. Then, 10 minutes to Catalunya Square, 13 minutes to heart of Ramblas (Liceu Metro Station)

Gracia is a very hip district of Barcelona, that is getting more and more popular among both locals and expats. Compared to the old centre of El born, Barri Gotic and El Raval, Gracia is far less touristy. Gracia is well-known for its kids friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The narrow lanes allow only limited traffic and thus people mainly move on foot or by bicycle. Gracia is just next to bustling Passeig de Gracia and Avenida Diagonal, but it managed to maintain its characteristic charme of a Catalan village.

Entering one of the small plazas like Plaza del Sol, Plaza Virreina or Plaza Vila de Gracia will make you feel being in a totally different place, although Barcelona’s city life is just two blocks away.

All over Gracia, there are a lot of cafes and bars, but hardly any night clubs. Most bars are open long hours, so if you feel like chatting and drinking with friends or having a beer on one of the plazas, Gracia will be your choice for the whole night.

For dedicated shoppers, Gracia also has got a lot to offer. Especially along Carrer Verdi, there are many small boutiques where the locals use to shop. If you are looking for the real style of Barcelona, you should have a browse at Gracia’s offerings.

For families with childrens, Gracia is a good place to stay during a visit to Barcelona, due to its squares and playgrounds for kids, the limited traffic and the location. Families has here an excellent base for exploring Barcelona.

Our flat is located in the heart of the neighbourghood, just two block from Virreina Square, Verdi Street and Verdi Cinemas. Also, three minutes walking you´ll find Abaceria Central public market, a good place to buy all food you need, from the best fruit and vegetables since unique delicatessen.If you buy organic foods we´ll provide you a list of all the shops where you can go. There are many of them at Gracia, and all are located near our home.

We have three bikes you can use. Two for adults -both with baby chair- and one for kids between 4 and 7. In addition, we have a little wood balance bike that is really good for kids between 2 and 4 years old.

Long weekends: beach destination on Languedoc-Rousillon, France.

We are a 38 and 41 years old couple with two daughters (6 and 2 year old). We are not from Barcelona, but we choose to live here 10 years ago because we love this city and we really like to show it and recomend places. We are interesting in visit european cities and live there for a while as local people, walk around, go the supermarket, cook local recipies and so on.
