Namur is just 10 km far from home, one of its highlights is unmistakably its Citadel, there are also plenty of boutiques, cafes and restaurants, cinemas.

I M P O R T A N T ! For the same exchange period and if you like it, you may dispose of our two homes (Brussels and/or Vezin, look at the pictures), that means you can enjoy your stay in Belgium from a rural to a urban environment or vice versa :
1. Our home in Brussels is located in a quiet and popular neighbourhood, near a green park and at only 15 minutes by foot of the Grand Place, main museums and most important commercial areas. The home is large with a living room, kitchen and dining area, 4 bedrooms, bathroom.
2. Our house in the countryside, a picturesque and peaceful village near Namur, capital of the Walloon region, french speaking side of Belgium, is an old (late XIX century), renovated and sunny three-storeyed stone house with character.
This is a family house with living room, kitchen and dining area, 4 bedrooms, bathroom and terrace. The garden is large and green (approximately 3000 square meters) with a small wood and a vegetable biogarden.
The house has central heating and an open fireplace, it is cool in summer due to the thick stone walls. As our every day home, it is fully equipped.
Both houses are fully equipped with washing machine, dish washer, microwave oven, freezer, video recorder et DVD player, stereo. . . and of course computer and ADSL access to Internet.
Children will find there plenty of fun toys to play with.

1. With its human size, Brussels is also a cosmopolitan and multicultural capital, with topnotch museums, a delightful architectural mix of Gothic and Art Nouveau, a thriving restaurant and nightlife scene, and tempting chocolate shops on seemingly every corner.
Moreover, from Brussels you can go to historical Belgian cities like Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Namur within 1Hr, or Paris (80 min. by train), London or Amsterdam (within less than 2Hr by train), Köln, Luxemburg, etc.
2. The village of Vezin is a peaceful place located between Namur and Andenne (both cities are at 10 km), but you'll be surprised by all the things you can do in the area. It's also the gate to the Ardennes.
Within ten minutes drive there is always a museum, a castle (amongst others, the Citadel of Namur! ) , a historic residence, family attractions or even an archeo-prehistoric site (actually 2 sites) within reach of your curiosity. Whether you want a fun holiday or an educational holiday, the progamme for children is just as comprehensive as for the adults. Other ingredients than cultural life may be easily incorporated for a totally relaxing stay: nature (valleys, rivers, forests) , or sporting activities. Footpaths of long and short distances stretch in every direction. Not so sure about the walking? Why not try riding a mountain bike? Our 4 bikes await for you.
From there, you can easily reach Belgian cities like Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Liège or the Ardennes and Luxemburg within 1-2Hr (by car) .

Our main summer exchange is already concluded but we stay open for short swaps (4 to 6 days) in August(August 15-21?) in a nice European city. We think we deserve some more holidays ;)
However, the parents alone enjoy short breaks and weekends throughout the year and anywhere in Europe. All suggestions are welcome.

We are an experienced homeswapers family (around 20 successful exchanges in France, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey and Ireland till now). Our three children, Virgile, Jonas and Lise (aged 7, 15 and 18 years old), are interested in other cultures and well-behaved. My wife Carine and I Ronald are in our early 40's, she’s working in advertising and I am a local government senior officer.
